Treatment Help

Our Vision

To create a positive impact in the lives of Autistic individuals and their families through choice, opportunity and inclusion.

Our Mission

To assist & empower Autistic individuals with the necessary skills needed to reach their maximum potential; to make them independent and include them in society.

The Story Of Reach

The founder of Reach Centre for Autism, Ms. Lata Iyer, is a special educator with experience for over 2 decades, and also the proud parent of an Autistic individual, Anushka.

While working with and trying to understand the world of her daughter through her perspective, Ms Iyer realized the need for establishing a centre that connects autistic individuals and their parents with a team of experts.

The key objective of this initiative is to ensure that individuals on the spectrum achieve functional independence and have access to a support network.

What is Autism?

Autism is a complex developmental disorder, with symptoms typically manifesting during the first three years of life. It affects the way the brain processes information causing a lapse between sensing and understanding.

Autism is a spectrum disorder meaning individuals with the same diagnosis might be affected in different ways.

Symptoms range from mild difficulty in learning and social interaction to severe impairment. Autism may represent as a standalone disorder or may be accompanied by verbal/non-verbal disposition, cerebral palsy, seizures, etc.

The most effective and well-documented therapy for individuals with Autism is education for behaviour reinforcement, with a focus on core areas of impairment, viz. communication and social understanding.

There is no medical treatment for autism, though medication may be used to treat specific symptoms. However, Autism can be handled positively through special individualized intervention programmes.

Our Goals:

  • Support & Empowerment: Provide individualized and structured programs designed as per the child’s Present Performance Level.
  • Family Involvement: Ensure complete involvement of parents, especially mothers in the learning process of their child, so they can actively contribute to their child’s development.
  • Community Awareness: Promote public understanding and acceptance of Autism through outreach, advocacy, and education.
  • Promote Independence: To ensure a dignified life for the child, by making them completely independent.
  • Celebrate Neurodiversity: Create an environment where differences are embraced, strengths are highlighted, and all voices are heard
