Our students receive skills of Library Management. The well-stocked Reach Library has books, flashcards, task process cards and games. Special needs parents have a one stop destination for availing these aids for issue. The Reach Library is open for employment to suitably trained and capable PwD students.
Every week, on one day (Friday or Saturday), our REACH Café welcomes guests to a mouthwatering spread of snacks & drinks, prepared and served by the students. Bookings are a must (one day prior to the visit) for the number of people and menu selection. Our students have been trained to prepare and garnish dishes, hand out menus, take orders, serve and wait on guests, prepare bills and receive payment.
Future Plans include extending the Café outreach to invite any individual on the spectrum to learn the culinary vocation and hone their skills.
Our students create beautiful art and craft items for home décor, festivals and special occasions, turning their creativity into meaningful gifts and treasures. Each handmade decoration, greeting card, or festive craft, reflects their unique perspective and talent. The craft items are not only gifted to visitors with joy but are also available for sale (during exhibitions or on order), thereby helping to build confidence & economic independence – an evidence of inclusion through creativity.
We actively encourage our students to participate in Special Sports, Exhibitions, Competitions, and other events organized for Persons with Disabilities. These events help our students to showcase their abilities, gain confidence, and celebrate their accomplishments. Some of the events our students regularly participate in include Khel Maha Kumbh, Divya Kala Mela, Special Olympics etc.
At Reach Centre for Autism, we celebrate festivals, birthdays and special occasions (such as Yoga Day, Teacher’s Day, etc.) with great joy and enthusiasm. These celebrations provide a rich cultural experience to our children, enhance their social skills and give them a sense of belonging. The students love dressing up, engaging in the festivities and enjoying delicious food on such occasions.
Reach Centre for Autism regularly conducts workshops and seminars aimed at
In the past couple of years, we have invited renowned experts in the field of Autism such as Dr Sadhiya Merchant (OT), Ms. Akila Vaidyanathan (Founder-Director of the AMAZE Charitable Trust), Ms. Preeti Siwach (Head of Vocational Training at Action For Autism, New Delhi) and Ms. Simmi Vasu (Head of Simmi Vasu Special Education Centre, NOIDA) to conduct informative and innovative workshops.
In addition to workshops and seminars, Reach Centre regularly organizes events to dispel common myths about Autism and to support individuals on the spectrum. Every year, we celebrate World Autism Awareness Day with a cultural program with performances by students, parents & teachers – to sensitise the audience to the hidden talents in our children and the joy they experience in sharing their lives with the world at large.
